Guardo le foto e mi sbalordisco sempre di più di ciò che abbiamo fatto! Stanchi dei banchi di scuola e fomentati dal caldo che stava facendo in questi giorni, Damiano Colazzo ed il sottoscritto abbiamo deciso di avventurarci in un trip alquanto insolito e mal organizzato. A farci compagnia Alì detto il Negro , conosciuto solo al momento della partenza: testardo, disordinato e rompi palle, se la skatea che è una meraviglia! Non tutto è andato come previsto: in viaggio ci rendiamo conto che la videocamera ha seri problemi e non funziona come dovrebbe e appena arrivati al park il Negro si rovina con una brutta caduta sul vert. Cracking the nose of your deck is really bad, and shortens its life and flex, expetially on drop through longboards. Some friends found a smart solution that can be applied also on top mounts and works really well. Here's my homemade version. First of all you need a plastic material that can deform while keeping some resistence: the most used, working stuff are those gummy orange traffic cones, used in maintainence works on the roads. Of course there's must something else that works fine or even better, so if you know just tell me. I cut the cone to get a flat sheet and mesured the distance between the front boltholes and the nose edge in my deck. I then cut out and shaped two strings to fit the bolts and the pivot seat in my baseplates. Here's the result. After few mounths spent looking for the right pieces I could finally build my camera rig. When you don't have the right tools and you don't know where to go to cut and drill your pieces a simple handcraft work can become a pain! So last week I found the missing piece searching in some street trash, the plexiglass plate to support the camera, that allowed me to shoot some interesting footage! I'm sorry, I needed the digital SLR to take pictures! I cut and glued some pvc tubes, following the size of my SLR camera and trying anyway to get quite a small frame: everyone who makes his own camera rig should do the same, because there's no universal size. The plate is made of thick plexiglass; I locked it to the frame by 4 bolts and added some inner tube washers (you can make everything with it!) to make it more solid and smooth. Il primo longboard per un accanito di street, mio fratello vi da le sue opinioni riguardo una tavola ideale per chi comincia. "Premettendo che mi sono sempre cimentato nello street e che forse non ho le appropriate nozioni per descrivere i caratteri del mio long, proverò comunque a presentarvelo! OccyBamboo fa parte della nuova serie di tavole della Globe . Ho deciso di acquistarla perché è un modello accessibile e di buona qualità. La Occy non ha grandi dimensioni (misura solo 9" x 36") e a differenza di quanto mi aspettassi è robusta e abbastanza rigida. Ciò non mi allontana del tutto dal feeling delle tavole da street ma con ruote da 70 mm 83a, truck Slant RKP da 150 mm (con grafica a tema) e cuscinetti Globe abec 7 si guadagna molta fluidità e stabilità nel ride, riuscendo ancora a divertirsi grazie alla reattività dei truck non troppo larghi, al wheelbase contenuto e al piccolo kick.
